Charming Antique Korean Sewing Box made entirely from hanji, Korean traditional paper, and covered with applied cut-paper designs and finished with a light oil. Two Double Happiness symbols adorn each side of the box. Inside the box is a two-section lidded compartment. A nice example of the old tradition of Korean Hanji (Paper) Art. 11.5 x 11.5 x 5.5 inches, 29 x 29 x 14 cm.

The Honsu Ham (Korean Wedding Chest) was a wife's most proud possession, and was always placed high in a position of visual prominence in her room. This solidly constructed and handsome Honsu Ham is constructed entirely of exotic paulownia wood, and has a rich, striking grain. The iron lock plate is in the shape of a beautifully stylized pullocho, the ancient and mythical longevity plant. It will surely continue to enjoy the ancient tradition of a place of prominence in its new owner's proud home. 24w x 13.5h x 12.25d inches, 61w x 34.5h x 31d cm. Antique Korean Black Inkstone Box and Antique Inkstone. The poem on the lid is a beautiful work of calligraphy. It can be read in two directions as "Celebrated mountain object" and "Celebrated mountain extraordinary wisdom", meaning that this object will be used in the pursuit of wisdom. The inkstone has a banana leaf motif, referencing the 8th Century Chinese scholar and celebrated calligrapher, Huaisu who wrote on banana leaves when he ran out of paper. A rare and most interesting find. 9.5w x 6d x 2.75h inches, 24w x 15d x 7h cm.
