Three orchid paintings from an album by Sin Wi aka Ja Ha (1769-1845), scholar and official of the royal court of the Joseon Dynasty and student of Gang Se Hwang. Orchids are an ancient Korean symbol of purity, modesty, and virtue. Dimensions: 11 x 10.5 inches (28 x 27 cm), 11.25 x 9 inches (28.5 x 23cm), and 11.5 x 9.75 inches (29 x 24.5 cm). Paintings by Sin Wi and rare. This is the first set of his paintings ever offered for sale outside of Asia.
