Rare Calligraphy by the Last Korean Princess, Yi Bangja (1901 - 1989) with the character "Hwa" meaning "Peace". A beautiful piece of Korean history created by the last member of the royal household to reside in Korea's royal palace. Princess Yi Bangja is much beloved by the Korean people. She devoted her entire life to the education of mentally and physically handicapped people, and worked tirelessly to support them. She is the subject of television dramas, stage dramas, operas, movies, and books, including her autobiography, "The World is One." 13 x 9.5 inches, 33 x 24 cm. Mounted on board. The inscription on the back reads that this was one of Mr. Kim's favorite pieces from his collection, and he has presented it as a gift to Mr. Choi in appreciation for the tea they have enjoyed together over many years.
