Large Painted Mountain Porcelain Plate of Unique Form by Shin Sang Ho, Korea's most successful ceramic artist. Both the painting of the Mountain and Sun in Zen style, and the ceramic itself represent this famous Korean artist at his very best. The plate is large (17.5 inches, 44.5 cm) and deep (3.75 inches, 9.5 cm), and is a beautiful work of porcelain sculpture, with its layered flamed rim and flowing form. The painting renders the ancient motif of Mountain and Sun, themselves symbols of longevity, in expressive Zen brushwork. Truly a one-of-a-kind find for the connoisseur of painting and ceramic art. The artist put loop holes and thick twine in the back for wall display.
